On Monday 23 March 2020, the Government provided updated advice in order to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. This included self-isolation guidance for households, specific advice for vulnerable people with underlying health conditions, and schools were asked to provide childcare places to vulnerable children, and children of key workers.
Since then, our academies have remained open to children from those groups, following individual risk assessments. Esteem Multi-Academy Trust continues to monitor updates and advice daily from the UK government regarding COVID-19 and is taking the necessary measures to keep pupils and staff safe. We are actively maintaining good hygiene and cleaning procedures throughout our academies to minimise the chances of spreading the virus. Our priority is, and will always be, to safeguard the health and safety of our pupils and staff in our Trust.
We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication that our Esteem colleagues continue to show through these very difficult and challenging times; pulling together and doing what we do best, which is to support the pupils and families in our school communities, even during the Easter holiday period.
The safety and wellbeing of our pupils who are currently at home is also of paramount importance; that's why our academy staff are in regular contact with pupils and their families, providing support as and when required. Pupil places continue to be reviewed on a weekly basis through discussions with parents/carers and social care.
If you are concerned about the welfare of a child or young person or worried they are being abused, you must make a referral to children's social care.
